One Day Workshop On Additive Manufacturing - Opportunities and Constraints (3D Printing and Reverse Engineering)
About the workshop
3D printing (additive manufacturing), a jaw dropping technology is by far one of the most interesting and happening technological advancements that mankind has seen in almost a decade. 3D printing was used to make three-dimensional objects under computer control and quickly fabricate a scale model of a physical part in layers using three-dimensional computer aided design (CAD) data. 3D printing technology is breaking down barriers in design and manufacturing, and making what was previously impossible, possible for anyone with just a basic understanding of the technology. 3D Printing is an effective tool that could speed up and improve new product development and drastically compress the time-to-market. 3DP has come a long way in terms of materials, quality and process capabilities. It could initially make only polymer components whereas ceramic and metallic parts are possible today. In terms of geometric quality and material homogeneity and variety, 3DP parts have improved tremendously.
Who may Participate The workshop is for giving the Academicians/Students a general idea of what 3D printing or Additive Manufacturing technology actually is. We are equally passionate about knowledge generation and increase the understanding that people have regarding this new technology. This workshop provides hands-on training for working on a 3D Printer. Moreover, the industry is opening out in a big way worldwide and the future of 3D printing seems very attractive, not just in terms of the industries that would have applications out of 3D printing, but also with respect to the jobs and other opportunities that it would create.
